Goodnight -- written by Brittany

You yawn, glancing out the window and into the rain.
Seeing a running figure holding a newspaper of their head, you get up quickly and go for the door.
Opening it and shivering as the cold, wet air stings your legs, you let him in.
"It's raining," he announces, tossing the newspaper into the trash and shivering.
"Very good," you applaud.
"Oh, hush. I'm freezing!"
"Well, Kevin, you knew it was going to rain tonight and you still refused to take a raincoat," you say, setting your hands on your hips.
"I didn't exactly plan on spending an hour outside, you know," Kevin said, removing his soaked coat and plopping it in the sink.
"You walked here? Why didn't you get dropped off? Or call a cab?" you ask curiously.
"Because...because...um-"
"Date go bad?" you ask.
"You have no idea," Kevin sighed, running a hand through his hair, drops of water hitting the floor.
"What happened?" you ask, walking over and sitting at the kitchen table, looking to him to talk.
"I'm not exactly sure. We went to dinner, I paid. We went to a movie, I paid. We took a walk through the park and held hands. I walked her to her door, gave her a kiss and then...well, then-"
"Kevin, come on," you whine, wanting to go to bed.
"We've been going out for a few months, right? I was kind of thinking that tonight...might be...you know. But, uh, she said that she...didn't think we should see each other anymore," Kevin said quietly, frowning.
"She broke up with you? At the end of a date? She let you pay for everything and then she broke up with you?" you ask, shocked.
"Yeah," Kevin sighed.
"Aw, Kev, I'm sorry."
You stand up and walk over to him, hugging him gently.
"What's wrong with me?" Kevin asks, sighing and hugging you back.
"What are you talking about?" you ask.
"I'll date a girl for a few months and then out of nowhere, I get dumped. I never see it coming and I always get the same line. 'It's not you, it's me. I'm not ready for a serious relationship.'"
Kevin sets his forehead on your shoulder and sighs loudly.
"Kev, a lot of girls aren't ready for serious relationships. But I don't think they should date you for months before saying something," you say, rubbing his back gently.
"This is the third girl in a row that has blown me off as soon as we're to...that level. I mean, is it me? Am I not cute enough or something? Is there something I'm putting out there that makes me not...sex worthy?" Kevin asks, pulling back and looking at you.
"Oh, no. No, no, Kevin. It's just...it's them. It's not you. You are...well...you. Um-"
"No, seriously, what is it?" Kevin asks, stepping back and looking at you.
"Okay, maybe it's the way you're doing it. You-"
"The...the what? T-The way?" Kevin asks, his eyes widening.
"Oh! No. Not the way you're doing it, but the way that you plan it. If you think about it, it's been the same thing with every girl. Dinner, movie, park, walk to the door...break up," you say, biting your lip.
"So I shouldn't plan it?" Kevin asks, confused.
"No," you chuckle.
Kevin frowns and you clear your throat.
"It shouldn't be planned, Kevin. You need to stop...expecting it. It should be spontaneous, you know?"
"No," Kevin says, shaking his head.
"Okay, let's pretend that we're dating," you say, an idea coming to you.
Kevin laughs lightly and shakes his head at you.
"No, really," he chuckles.
"I'm serious! Come on, just play along," you say.
"Alright, alright," Kevin says, shrugging.
"Okay, we've been dating for a few months and everything is going wonderfully."
"Okay," Kevin says, looking suspicious.
"We go out to dinner and a movie, take a walk through the park and then you walk me to my door. What happens next?" you ask.
"Well, we live in the same house since it's a waste of space to rent two houses since I'm on the road so much and our-"
"Kevin!" you exclaim.
"What, I'm just saying."
"Okay. Okay, we...you walk me to my bedroom door," you nod, walking to the hallway and motioning for him.
He looks at you carefully but follows.
"Alright, now what?" you ask once you're in front of your bedroom door.
"I kiss you goodnight and then you dump me," Kevin says, frowning.
"That's what you're expecting. And because the whole date was planned to end this way, that's probably what would happen," you nod.
"How the hell is this going to help me?" Kevin asks, scratching his head.
"I think you lack seducing skills, Kevin," you tell him, nodding gravely.
"I do not!"
"You do so," you nod.
"I...do I? I...oh my God, I do!" he exclaims, leaning against your door.
"But the good news is that we can fix this."
"How?"
"Okay, tell me what you usually do," you say, grinning.
"What I do? In...the bedroom?" Kevin asks, giving you an odd look.
"Yes."
"No."
"Come on!" you say, tugging on his shirt playfully.
"No! This is weird!"
"I'm going to start guessing if you don't tell me," you taunt.
"I...I don't know. It's normal I guess. I just...do...it."
"What about foreplay?"
"Dude!" Kevin exclaims, staring at you.
"Kevin, come on! If I'm going to help you, I need to know."
"Um, there's kissing and the removal of clothes...and then, well, that's about it."
"That's it? Are you kidding me?" you ask.
"No. What?"
"Okay, we're going to do a little exercise, alright?"
"What kind?" Kevin asks you carefully.
"The foreplay game. I just made it up."
"The fore- no. No way. This is awkward, okay?"
"Just try it. Just close your eyes, and trust me," you say.
"Fine, fine," Kevin sighs, closing his eyes.
"Okay, now pretend we're about to have sex. I'm going to tell you what I think should happen."
"Okay," Kevin nods, keeping his eyes closed.
"Alright, so you walk me to my bedroom door. I'm expecting a goodnight kiss, but I don't get one."
"Wait, what? No kiss?"
"So I say goodnight and then go into my room and now my mind is on you, and I'm wondering why you didn't kiss me. You let me think for about ten minutes and then you come back to my door and knock on it. I open the door and you step inside uninvited, your hands on my hips."
"Okay, I can do that," Kevin nods.
"I think you're going to kiss me, but again, you don't. Your hands slide up my waist and you lean your head in, your lips touching my neck. I tilt my head back and you suck on it gently, teasing my neck with your lips," you say, looking at Kevin.
"Okay."
"You slide your hands under my shirt and your fingers trail over my skin as your lips kiss my neck. You kiss my jaw, my cheek, my temple, my forehead and the tip of my nose before finally kissing me."
"How do I kiss you?" Kevin asks you quietly.
"Gentle at first. So gentle. But then you part my lips with your tounge and the kiss gets more passionate. It gets deep and hot. Hot enough to make you shiver."
You watch Kevin's adam's apple jerk as he swallows, and you find yourself smiling.
"Then your hands slide to my hips and you grip my shirt, tugging it over my head and dropping it to the floor. I start walking away from you and you follow me to my bed. I slide my pants off slowly, watching you as I do it. Then I take off my bra and sit on the bed. You walk over, your heart pounding in your chest and try to kiss me, but I don't let you."
"Why not?" Kevin asks, his breathing increasing.
"Because you're overdressed. I push you away and tell you to take off your shirt. You do and then I undo your pants and push them to the floor. Then I let you kiss me. You move on top of me, kissing me deeply, our tounges touching. Our skin touching makes you want more, and you reach down and hook your thumb in my underwear."
"I do?"
"Yes. Then you break the kiss and slide my underwear down my legs, tossing them over your shoulder and then looking at me. I sit up and push your boxers down slowly and then add them to the pile of our clothes."
"T-Then what?" Kevin asks, licking his lips.
You look him over and notice how tight the front of his pants has gotten.
"Then you pin me on the bed and kiss me. Hard. You reach down and move my legs so my knees are against your hips, and then you enter me," you say, biting your own lip.
"How?" Kevin asks you, swallowing loudly.
"Slowly. So slowly that it makes me moan. Then you thrust gently, over and over again until I can't take it and beg you to go faster."
"Do I?"
"Oh yeah. The headboard rattles against the wall as your hips grind into mine and our bodies become slick with sweat. Then I wrap my legs around your waist and pull you into me deeper, almost screaming when you hit the right spot. We're both moaning and I circle my hips as you thrust into me for what feels like hours."
"And...and then?"
"And then we both lose control and can't hold back anymore. Thrusting, moaning, begging you to go faster, harder, sweating, breathing, and finally...screaming."
"Sc-screaming?" Kevin asks, letting out a shaky breath.
"Screaming," you confirm.
"Then it's...over?" he asks, both his hands tangled in his hair.
"Yes. We're both breathing loudly and are damp with sweat. My toes finally uncurl and you lay beside me for a moment before pulling me close and kissing me gently."
Kevin nods slightly and you clear your throat.
He opens his eyes and you see that they're dark with lust.
"So next time try that," you tell him, patting his shoulder.
"You-what-huh?" he asks, confused.
"Try that next time. Game's over now," you smile.
Kevin swallows hard and you can see his chest rising and falling as he breathes heavily.
"Hey, um, have you...I-I mean did you-"
"What?" you ask.
"Um, uh, nothing. Nevermind. That was good. I...I'll keep that in mind," Kevin nods, running his hands through his hair and looking at you.
"Glad to help. Goodnight, Kevin," you smile, gently pushing him aside and then opening your door.
"Wait-"
"Goodnight," you say again, looking at him and then entering your room, shutting the door.
You let out a long breath and sit on your bed.
Glancing at the clock, you bite your lip.
Ten minutes later there's a knock at your door, and you smile.
